On Saturday morning, BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty cast his vote at the Belgachiya polling booth for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. After standing in line for 40 minutes under the scorching sun, he told reporters, "Election duty was till 30th (May). The team had instructions. I have fulfilled this time my job is to go into professional life. I am entering my professional life from Saturday. I will work on the film from Saturday." Mithun emphasized his return to the film industry, stating, "I will talk about the picture. I will not talk about politics."
Mithun's decision marks a significant shift from his recent political activities, including a vigorous campaign in the 2021 assembly elections. He mentioned his commitment to his professional life, highlighting that he does not "do two jobs at the same time." Mithun's previous political involvement had led to legal challenges, but he has now decided to focus solely on his career in the film industry, leaving political discussions behind.
